Our secondary life skills groups recently took part in a fun and informative assembly focusing on the importance of staying safe in the sun. The session explored simple but effective ways to protect ourselves during warmer weather, helping our young people understand how to enjoy the sunshine safely while looking after their health.
The assembly covered key sun safety messages, including wearing a hat, applying sunscreen regularly, drinking plenty of water and finding shade during the hottest parts of the day. These practical tips help our young people develop important life skills that they can use both at school and at home.
One of the highlights of the assembly was a surprise appearance from a member of staff dressed in a bright red "sunburn" morph suit. The fun visual demonstration certainly captured everyone's attention and helped reinforce the important message in a memorable and engaging way.
At Fairmead we believe that learning is most effective when it's enjoyable, and this assembly was a fantastic example of combining education with plenty of smiles and laughter.
