Careers Guidance

At Fairmead school we have been using Future Smart Careers to offer our independent careers advice and guidance over the last few years. Year 10 young people are offered individual appointments during the summer term so they have the information they need in time for their year 11 annual review meetings in the following autumn. Future Smart Careers are able to hold these meeting in a variety of ways that meet the needs of our young people, supported by Fairmead staff as needed. An action plan is then written and shared with families.

Thank you again for the warm welcome and all the support I received from you and staff members when I visited Fairmead School. It was fantastic to see how well-prepared students were for their meetings with me, and what an impact your work experience programme has on their confidence and awareness of the working world. Every student was a delight to spend time with and quite a number were very well aware of the different choices they have once they leave school. It was heart-warming to see them using their reflection skills when discussing work experience and what they have learned about the world of work and their own unique skills through these opportunities. This gave them the confidence to have discussions with a person they hadn’t met before (me) and it made my work even more impactful.

Thank you once again, I hope we have the opportunity to work together again in future.
