The Enrichment Element
Our Enrichment programme gives every young person opportunities to learn, explore and enjoy experiences beyond the formal curriculum. It complements classroom learning while supporting personal development, wellbeing, communication, confidence, independence and preparation for adulthood.
We provide a wide range of inclusive and meaningful experiences both in school and in the wider community. These may include educational visits, physical activities, community projects, creative experiences and opportunities to develop new interests.
Through enrichment, young people are supported to:
-
develop confidence, communication, resilience, teamwork and independence through practical experiences;
-
apply and develop life skills in real-world situations;
-
explore their interests, talents and aspirations, helping them make choices and discover new possibilities;
-
develop positive relationships and social skills through teamwork, problem-solving and shared experiences;
-
work towards relevant EHCP outcomes and individual goals, where appropriate;
-
develop their understanding of and participation in the wider community, strengthening their sense of belonging;
-
access additional support and targeted opportunities that promote social and emotional wellbeing;
-
share their views and ideas, helping to shape and develop our enrichment opportunities.
Through our enrichment programme, young people are encouraged to try new things, discover what they enjoy, develop their strengths and experience the wider world. These experiences help build the confidence, skills and independence needed to participate fully in life beyond school.
