A Busy and Exciting First Half Term!

It has been a fantastic start to the school year for Class 3! The first half term has been full of exciting opportunities, new experiences and valuable learning. Our young people have been busy developing their independence, building new skills and exploring different activities both in and outside the classroom. Here is a little look at what we have been getting up to!

During Life Skills, the young people have enjoyed a range of new experiences. They have been developing their shopping skills by finding products from a shopping list and identifying the correct areas within the store. They have also been learning how to plan their shopping.

They have been taking part in regular weekly swimming lessons at Goldenstones. The young people have enjoyed these sessions so much! The lessons have helped them build independence in public settings, develop appropriate behaviour and confidence in the water, and improve their physical skills.

In Computing, Class 3 have started using laptops more independently. They have been given extra time to practise logging in and familiarising themselves with the equipment at their own pace.

We have also had lessons about food use-by dates and how to check whether products are still safe to use.

During English, Class 3 has been busy creating and developing stories, showing fantastic imagination and making great progress in their writing.

In Maths, young people have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. They have also enjoyed creating some 3D shapes independently.

We are incredibly proud of all the young people in Class 3 and the progress they have made this half term. It has been lovely to see their enthusiasm, growing confidence and willingness to try new things. We hope everyone enjoyed a well-deserved break, and we look forward to another exciting half term filled with new adventures, learning opportunities and achievements!
