Computing at Fairmead

The vision for Computing at Fairmead is to prepare our young people to be confident and constructive members of the digital world in which they live.

 

Our Computing curriculum helps young people develop the digital skills they need for learning, communication, independence and everyday life. Young people learn how to use technology safely, responsibly and purposefully, including how to manage personal information, communicate online, use digital devices and access common software and online services.

 

Across the curriculum, young people are supported to build confidence with practical technology skills, including typing, using email, creating digital content, programming, robotics, online safety and understanding how technology affects health, wellbeing and society. Learning is carefully adapted to meet the needs of our young people, with opportunities for both practical exploration and structured support.

 

We recognise that digital skills are an important part of modern life. Technology can help young people communicate with others, access services, solve problems, express ideas and take part more fully in society.

 

Our aim is for young people to leave Fairmead with the knowledge, confidence and safe habits they need to use technology positively in school, at home and in the wider world.
