Who said maths has to be all worksheets? Class 2 took our addition and times tables practice to the next level - using UNO cards! Yes, the same colourful cards we usually play to see who can yell “UNO!” the fastest became our tools for practising maths.
How it works
Each young person drew (at least) two cards from their pile.
If we were working on addition, we simply added the two numbers together.
If it was multiplication time, we multiplied the numbers instead.
Why it’s so fun
Using UNO cards turns maths into a game - and when maths feels like a game, everyone gets involved!
It encourages quick thinking
Helps build confidence
And best of all, it makes learning feel like play, not work.
The best part?
The young people didn’t even realise how much learning they were doing… because they were having too much fun!
So next time you’re practising your addition or multiplication at home, grab a deck of UNO cards and give it a try. Maths + Games = A perfect match!
