We have been very lucky to welcome Damian and Sean from the Somerset Cricket Foundation into school to work with our young people on developing their cricket skills this half term.
Their sessions have been a fantastic opportunity for young people across the school to learn more about the game, build confidence, and most importantly, have fun.
Classes 1 and 2 have been busy learning how to play table cricket, developing key skills such as teamwork, hand-eye coordination and taking turns. Meanwhile, the young people in Classes 3 and 5 have been learning how to play cricket, practising batting, bowling and fielding skills while gaining a better understanding of the rules of the game.
Each week, a Player of the Week was chosen to celebrate effort, enthusiasm and great sportsmanship, which has been a wonderful way to recognise the young people's hard work and positive attitudes.
A huge thank you to Damian and Sean for their engaging and inspiring coaching. The children have loved the sessions, and we are all looking forward to putting these new skills into action - bring on the cricket tournaments in the New Year!
